UFC Las Vegas Full Card Picks and Betting Tips

We got back on track with the bets, albeit with only small profit, but I'll take it. We just had to get a gredn number and now we can hit our stride. We should have a decent enough Fight Night ahead of us with a main event that I'm really looking forward to. We are getting the main event from a few weeks ago in Nikita Krylov vs Ryan Spann on this card as well. There's a handful of other fights that I'm interested in watching as well as some individuals to keep an eye on. We have a lot of fights, so let's not waste any time. Just to be clear,  my picks will be in the bolded font , and  the real results will be listed next to it in italics  after the fight is official. Official bets will be at the bottom. Bets are now being officially tracked at  BetMMA  as well. Carlston Harris defeats Jared Gooden               Result: Harris by decision (1-0)          This is a fight that was thrown together...

UFC 285 Fallout: Alexa Grasso Stuns Valentina Shevchenko to Become UFC Champion

Somehow, Jon Jones returning to action and becoming heavyweight champion by submitting Ciryl Gane in 2 minutes wasn't the most shocking thing that happened this weekend in combat sports. Alexa Grasso stepped up in the biggest spot of her career and took down one of the most dominant champions that the UFC has seen in the modern era. Valentina had more questions surrounding her than usual because she had a down performance against Taila Santos and she was finally dethroned by Grasso. It wasn't a similar fight to the Santos one though for Val, so seeing her struggle in the ways she did was more surprising than anything. I'm still sort of processing this one myself, so I guess you'll see me come to some conclusions in real time instead of the more natural ones that I already have in place when I begin. Let's lay it out there. I guess what's interesting about this fight from the perspective of both fighters is that neither one really did anything that was completel...

UF 285 Fallout: Jon Jones Captures Second Championship in Heavyweight Debut

In his first fight since 2020, Jon Jones looked better than he had in his last few fights at light heavyweight. I guess we shouldn't really be surprised, but somehow he still manages to pull of things that no one really sees coming. We all had so many questions about how the layoff, the age, and the weight would effect his ability to perform at a championship level. Unfortunately, we didn't really get an answer to most of those questions, but the one he answered emphatically is that he is still a championship caliber fighter. He definitely looked reinvigorated after some uninspired looking performances against Thiago Santos and Dominick Reyes (and Even Anthony Smith to a degree). I feel like I have to bring it up every time I talk about him and it's honestly getting a bit tiresome. I think I've been very clear on how I feel about Jon and his history, I'm not going to rehash it every time I talk about him, so go find those other times if you need to. Let's get in...

UFC 285 Full Card Picks and Betting Tips

Alright guys, this is the week we get back on track. This is a card with a lot of very known fighters with reliable styles that we've seen against highish level competition multiple times. There's significantly less projection required on this card than we get on a typical Fight Night these days and even all of the 2023 PPVs. This has to be the week that we get back to some green numbers. This is the best card of the year so far and as we inch closer, I'm becoming more and more excited. I'm trying to remain calm because getting excited too far out during a Jon Jones fight week isn't advisable, but here I am. This has been built up for so long that I'm almost over all of the hype. I'm just ready to see it. This card starts getting good almost right away and keeps it up for a vast majority of the run time. I'm excited and I want to have a good week betting coming up. Just to be clear,  my picks will be in the bolded font , and  the real results will be li...

Weekly Roundup: Paul vs Fury, Amosov Retains Title, Brendan Allen and More

We had a busy weekend in combat sports, but there really wasn't any single story that stood out enough for me to write an entire piece on it. Instead, I figured I would get out some thoughts on a lot of different things. We had Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury, the return of Yaroslav Amosov, Brendan Allen picking up a huge win, and a few other things. I just want to quickly get some thoughts down and give all of those their credit. I guess I'll start with Jake Paul and Tommy Fury. I don't really have any grand takeaway from this fight. It wasn't especially fun to watch, which is really nothing new for these influencer cards, but this one felt a little worse. I think this one was missing the novelty of the previous ones. The other ones were fun at least a little bit because it had someone we know (we as in people my age and younger) in Jake Paul fighting either Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, or Ben Askren. It was at least moderately entertaining just because it was weird. This o...

UFC Vegas 70 Full Card Picks and Betting Tips

The bets are really spiraling and I'm taking the time to try and reevaluate where I'm going wrong. I don't necessarily think I'm making awful reads consistently because my picks are going ok for the most part. There seems to be a disconnect between my general take and breakdown of the fight versus what I actually play for that fight. I think I need to be more confident in the reads I'm making, especially for minus money plays. I'm so reluctant to play medium sized or better favorites and I think that is an area that I could look to be a bit more willing to jump in on. Anyways, This week is a solid lead up to a really good stretch in the UFC schedule. I'm not here to say this is the best Fight Night in the world, but it is definitely a step up compared to the last few Fight Nights, at least in my mind. There may be some decent plays to be had as well. Just to be clear,  my picks will be in the bolded font , and  the real results will be listed next to it in ...
